Gaming X Trio RTX 2080 issue
« on: 10-September-19, 11:01:54 »

The new trend with implementation of all the apps in one big app (Dragon Center) left the lighting setup a little bit dull. The GPU doesn't save it's setup, Every time I turn off my PC and then turn it back on, it just goes to rainbow mode and stays like that for as long as I don't switch it back to the way I want...

It is normal that the card needs Mystic Light working for the settings to take effect.

Same card. Recently started having the same issue. Previously it would happen at random times--it would work fine for weeks at a time then randomly go back to rainbow. A couple days ago I changed from a single color in both zones to a different color per zone and now every time I power up or restart my machine I have to open Mystic Light and set up my lighting all over again. Since I booted my PC this morning I actually set up my lighting, saved it and noticed it was back to rainbow mode WITHOUT EVEN RESTARTING in less than an hour.

I checked to make sure I have the most recent version of Mystic Light--I do. I uninstalled it and installed Dragon Center instead--it wouldn't even show a window on my screen unless I went into task manager and shut down everything MSI-related at which point it would fail to initialize because it couldn't communicate with one of the processes I had to close to get the window to even appear. I uninstalled Dragon Center and reinstalled Mystic Light. Same. Old. Story.

Suggestions?

For me, Mystic Light ver 3.0.0.66 works for the GPU. I was having that issue only with Dragon Center with every version of it. The reason I used dragon center was because it had that option to stop overwriting 3rd party softwares, so I could customise my g.skill modules the way I like with their software because mystic light is a poor software (to my surprise, all I had to do in the original Mystic Light was to set the ram on off and then open trident z software). So basically, I'm back to Mystic Light, and the version up-mentioned works fine for now...if 3.0.0.66 doesn't work for you...try 3.0.0.50 from the gpu utility page...I used that one up until today.
