Hi

I have an MSI H67MA-E35 motherboard. It is currently on BIOS version 11.9 (aka B9). I need to upgrade it to at least D0.

However, nothing seems to work. If I go to the BIOS downloads page, I can download D1 and D2. Both instruct me to run them from USB stick, which I do. They both then present me with the old and the new version numbers, and inform me the PC will reboot. It does, but just reloads Windows again having made no difference.

I tried using the MSIHQ Bootable USB tool, found here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=116721.0

However, essentially the same thing happens: I follow the instructions, point it to D1 or D2, it creates the bootable USB stick. I then restart and boot from that stick, it claims to be flashing the BIOS, but then after it tells me the update was successful, it reboots back into Windows having made no change to my BIOS.

Is this a known issue? Does anyone know what's going wrong here and how I might resolve the problem?

edit: I've managed to install v11.11 and v11.12, but I need to install v13+ for Ivybridge support.

Thanks!

Dave

Update your bios using the instructions below AND using the archive attached (important!).

A.) Download the attached archive and place it on your desktop. Do not decompress.
B.) Download and install the >>MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<.
C.) Insert your FAT32 formatted usb stick.
D.) Make sure that all win 8 options are disabled. (Fast Boot etc) Also make sure the legacy USB is enabled.
E.) Start the forum flash tool and select option 1. Then point the tool at the compressed archive we downloaded earlier. Then to your USB Flash Drive.
   F.) Boot to the USB
G.) Now follow the directions and let the tool flash
H.) After flashing reinstall ME drivers in Windows: http://download.msi.com/dvr_exe/intel_amt81_win78_xp.zip

There is no password required. You are most likely doing something wrong. If you have still issues open an own thread. This one is 2 years old.
