you never "need" to update BIOS unless there's any problem with your card.

however, you could request the latest vBIOS and flash it but it's pretty pointless to do so.

If you want to have the latest vbios we need to know what you have now. The numbers you listed for version are useless.

Follow >>GOP / UEFI Vbios requests - Read Here First<< on how to check.

Updating driver is a good thing in any case. You can check for the latest here: https://www.geforce.com/drivers

If everything is working as it should, no crashes, performance as expected, why update anything?

hey thanks for the reply . yes i have experience random unexpected crashes in games like fortnite and rainbow 6 siege not very often but when it happens the only way to resolve this is to restart my pc i cant open up task manager to kill the task because i cannot open anything when the game goes full black . i have tried everything such as fresh reinstall windows and fresh reinstall nvidia driver and updating my mobo bios etc but nothing works . so there is one of the guy from Linus tech tip forum ask me look into my gpu vbios . before that i didnt even know a gpu bios exist .

This something that needs to be resolved, but it may be game specific thing, have you tried to search similar crashes for other users?

im pretty sure not the game it self , csgo and bf5 giving me the same problem as well. it does not happen often like i said but when it happen is a mess .
the info i have gather/research online is very less because nearly 1% of the people have this kind of problem (base on my research)
and they didnt have solution to resolve their issue as well .
i have tested my pc such as cpu,ram etc is in a very good condition .
the video blacks out when the crash happen . i can tell i can open up anything in the background but i coudnlt control them because when i press ALT+TAB it will remain at the game with full black screen so i just press start button and restart the pc everytime when crash happen .
so this tells me highly likely is from the gpu it self

Try to look in event viewer if there is more detail on what happens.

If you are using windows 10, right click the start button, you will see it near the top.
If you are using windows 7, click start and type event, you should find it on the list.

Did you have another gpu it did not happen with before?

but no , no crash happen it run fine !
i have done alot of research recently to find any solution for my gpu but i didnt found any and try everything i could like ( fresh reinstalling windows , nvidia driver , testing ram , cpu etc ) even go as far as swapping psu.
things still happen until i post my issue to LTT forum and telling them what i have do/tested to make sure everything is ok beside gpu . then they tell me to look into msi forum and try to see if any solution for this vbios update/etc

To rename a file in windows, right click the file in file explorer (windows explorer in windows 7) and select rename.
Or you can do it in command prompt, type: ren NV371MH.105 105.rom <enter>
I guess it is because nvfash require that the file has extention ".rom"
