5 minute boot time - GT80 SLI
« on: 09-October-19, 15:29:23 »

It reboots very quickly, in under 30 seconds but  cold boots take 5 minutes, what's up with that?

Cold boot? you mean power on from shut down, right?
Windows 10 default shut down is like a combination between hibernation+shut down thus a fast startup function.

Not sure why it makes your machine starts slowly though. You may try disabling fast startup in power options and turn off/on again.

Restart doesn't unload the RAM, all previous programs are still there from the previous boot, this is what loads. Power is kept to the RAM, RAM is volatile, it needs power to keep programs loaded.
Shutdown and Restart loads all the programs again, the RAM is unloaded as the power was removed at shutdown.
Have you done a Rootkit scan?
