MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC OC and GPU
« on: 07-November-19, 04:50:00 »

Hi everyone

Im building a system using the B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC with R5 3600 CPU and MSI gaming Z 2070 GPU. Im wondering if I need to worry about the weight of the 2070(1485g) or if its even a factor at all.

Also, im planning to overclock to around 4.2-4.3 Ghz using corsair h100i platinum rgb waater cooler. Im wondering if this motherboard will allow stable overclock to around 4.2Ghz

Thanks

You will have no problem overclocking with this board, I have the same board and CPU and have no issues. The only one you may run into is not getting it to run at 4.3GHz all-core. But it's nothing to worry about, just setting it up for an Auto OC + PBO will be just fine, especially where you're using a liquid cooler. You'll lose out on the single core boosts if you go for an all-core, but maybe your workloads prefer higher all-core over single core performance, I don't know lol
