G41M-P28 attach stereo speakers
« on: 07-November-19, 07:43:59 »

Hello everyone,
I have an old motherboard G41M-P28 (MS-7592) version 5.0.
I would like to attach stereo speakers or alternatively stereo headphones to the motherboard. I propose that the jack in the pront pannel does not work.
I found the jumper pin configuration and I think that what happens to me is JAUD1.Confirm? (There is another one, JFP2 but it only has a + and a - for the connection and I think this for my purpose not good). Quite right?
JAUD1 jumper in addition to presenting "headphone L" and "heaphoneR" also has "sense_send", "head phone detection", "presence #" and "ground" of which I do not know the meaning! I suppose "ground" is fine as is common for the two audio channels ("headphone L" and "heaphoneR"). Correct?
What are the others for? thank you very much to those who will help me

The case should have a front panel cable with the appropriate connector, it may be azaila or ac'97.
If not what exactly do you have?

the case as the motherboard is old. The case does not have the front panel but the MB has the possibility to put it through the connectors represented by the figure attached above. How should I connect the stereo speakers ("L", "R" and "common") to the connector above. My MB supports AC'97.
Thanks

Look here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=148436.0

Or you can buy a front panel bay if the case have a place for it

You are mistaken as your board supports HG audio. If you have an older case that supports AC'97.you can not connect front panel audio from the MB as it will not work. Yhe front panel AC'97 connectors are not compatible with the MB HD audio. For it to work the best thing to do is get a cheap new case that has the HD audio fron pane l setup.

Hi HenryW. You are right. Indeed, looking good, my MB supports HD audio.:bonk:
My problem is due to the fact that the female jack mounted directly on the back of the MB no longer works.
For this I was looking for an alternative way to connect the audio speakers, coming to mind then that there was the possibility of connecting a front panel to the house and then another jack for audio.
However I think I have solved it.
Thank you for your interest
