MSI Z97 MPower Max AC/I7-4790K Memory OC Help
« on: 02-December-19, 10:51:05 »

My older MSI Z97 MPower Max AC needs a little help on some voltages.I am overclocking 16 gigs/4 sticks of G Skill TridentX F3-2400C9-4GTXD to run stable at 2600/2666 and am almost there but not stable when stress testing.Boots into windows fine but crashes stressing. To boot into windows they need 1.70v Dram volts,I am at 1.200v SA volts but not quite sure on the IO volts which one I need to play with to get it to be stable. With MSI mb's there are two IO settings.CPU Digital IO Voltage and CPU IO Analog voltage.I have them both a 1.200v now.Should I be playing around with both of them or just one IO setting and leave one on auto.I am use to Asus style mb's that only have the one IO setting like in my Z270 Apex Maximus IX has.Its a bit of a learning curve all over again playing with the MSI Z97 bios.Any help appreciated on what IO voltages I need to fiddle with.If I leave both the IO settings on auto she will not boot.It needs more juice here I think for sure..I did have SA volts at 1.250v but it never helped in stability at all.I did read here on other posts that some boards do need more IO volts than SA..Anyway it's something to tinker with while I get all my parts for the new system. MSI Z390 Godlike MB with a I9-9900K I was thinking for starters...
