Z390 Gaming Edge AC RAM Overclock
« on: 26-January-20, 12:21:39 »

Hello,

I have the Z390 Gaming Edge AC and I am using Crucial RAM PartNo (BLE8G4D36BEEAK.M8FE1) which is on the supported RAM list for this motherboard. It runs at 2666Mhz by default, which is what the i7-9700k supports and it also has an XMP profile to run at 3600Mhz. When I enable the XMP, the system seems fine. I have run Prime95, Aida64, Memtest86, Memtest86+, and Windows Memory Diagnostic for multiple hours at a time and the system seems stable. The XMP profile sets the voltage at 1.35/6 but every so often I get a BSOD.

Using BlueScreenView-x64 to examine the crash dumps, it appears to be memory related and when I turn of XMP, all is well. I am wondering if I should manually set the BIOS to 3600Mhz with a 1.40v to see if that helps the BSOD problem as I feel like this is voltage related. There is a new, beta version, BIOS which I could try to see if that helps the XMP as well. Anyhow, any thoughts welcome.

It may not be related to the ram at all.
Try +0.025 vcore voltage offset.

Thanks, Chike. I'll try the vCore offset and yes, it may not be RAM related at all. Maybe just some voltage adjustments will resolve this.

We know there is a voltage problem with some of z390 boards, but it may depend on the cpu as well.
Mainly at low load.
