Memory Try It! or DRAM frequency
« on: 29-January-20, 04:04:14 »

Hello.

These are my specs:
Motherboard: MSI A320M-A Pro
Processor: Ryzen 3200G
Memory (single module): Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 3200 MHz, DDR4, DRAM, 8 GB, CL16
No graphics card.

I have the default configuration. The memory module is currently at 2400 MHz.

I do not want to overclock the memory, I want to increase the memory speed to 2667 MHz.

What option should I use, “Memory Try It” or “DRAM Frequency”? Should I consider A-XMP? Is there a manual for increasing the memory speed?

Thank you.

And how do you think can be memory speed increased if not by overclocking it?
Try xmp with speed set to 2666 vs memory try it, run benchmarks to see which is better.
Memory try it depends on the chips so se what you have in CPU-Z spd tab.

Thanks for answering. Motherboard specs says that overclocking starts at 2933, I don't know if that refers to the motherboard, the memory module or both.

Try xmp with speed set to 2666 vs memory try it, run benchmarks to see which is better. Memory try it depends on the chips so se what you have in CPU-Z spd tab.

A-XMP has two profiles, which are identical: DDR4 3200 MHZ 16-18-18-36. I would like to increase the memory speed gradually, first to 2667MHz and then maybe higher, but I don't know which option should I use: "Memory Try It!" or "DRAM Frequency". Which one is easier to configure? Is there a manual made by the manufacturer to configure the memory modules?
