MAG272CQR not going to sleep
« on: 16-May-20, 12:27:53 »

Hello.  Just built a new PC and purchased this monitor to go with it.  I have a second monitor, and if I let the system go into sleep mode, it (an Acer model) goes to sleep as well, but my MAG272CQR does not.   I'll come in, and can see the light around the edge of the screen, and it's notably lighter in color.  I did download the driver info from the support page, and I'm still getting the same results.  Has anyone else figured out how to resolve this?

Hello

For fail to sleep with back-light still on or monitor wakes up automatically when enter S3.
This is Scaler IC design limitation.
When there’s a hot plug detect signal, the monitor wakes up automatically or the graphics card displays black image.

There’s newest FW update adding button for disable auto scan function manually,
please RMA the monitor(s) to get such FW update.

Thanks

This isn't something that can be done via a download?  I've already recycled the box, because it wasn't something I noticed right away.

Nope, those models can't update firmware remotely,
can be done only at service center

Thanks for contacting MSI technical support.

Regarding your concern, we'll fix the monitor will not sleep when it has dual monitor setup in next firmware version. We do not release the new firmware yet.
Unfortunately it's impossible to update firmware by yourself. If you'd like to update firmware in the future, please contact your nearest RMA Service for your request.

This is the Reply I just got today when i made ticket with MSI

Thanks
