MS-7550 upgrade.
« on: 19-May-20, 12:54:46 »

I have an MSI MS-7550 motherboard with a Phenom 4 core processor. I would like to install a M.2 NVMe SS drive on an adapter in the PCIe slot as an upgrade.
My question is will the BIOS recognize it as a drive so I can boot from it?

It does only support PCI-E 2.0 thus will limit any NVME SSD badly also booting from PCI-E in NVME mode will surely not work this old AM2+ board.

As the PCI-E SSD would not really be faster due to the limitation anyway better stick with a surely working SATA SSD.
