MSI K8D Master no boot, funny beep codes
« on: 09-December-03, 13:09:38 »

Just powered up the k8d master and got a warble sounding beep code.  This happens about 9 seconds after power on.  Get no video signal, or anything else other than beep code.  Could not find anything in the documentation about the beep codes.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I'm with you man.  Check out my setup and see if we have anything matching.  Have you solved this problem yet?

  • Hi,

Do you have registered ECC DDR modules?

I have this same problem also and I have no idea what is wrong.  It just continues to beep, even when I just plug in the processor, memory, and video card.

  • Hi,

I'm starting to believe it's the Corsair modules, as I only see these problems with people using Corsair mudules....
Can you try like Infineon or such and see what happens?

Yeah, I already ordered another gig of Kingston ECC memory.  What ticks me off is that I called Corsair and asked specifically about the Master, and they said it would work.  I don't know if they misunderstood the type I needed, because the only Corsair memory that will work is the TWINX1024RE-3200LL.  Strangely, this is the same price as the TWINX1024-3200LL modules I already have that are not registered memory.  The RE are registered, so they also have ECC.  Anyway, I will let you know how the Kingston ECC memory works out the second it gets here.
