Ducting fresh air directly to the CPU
« on: 22-October-05, 13:28:32 »

In an effort to get the CPU temperatures down and thereby reducing the fan speed I made a Plexiglas air duct from the side intake directly to the CPU fan.
The temperature drop was not as good as I had hoped, but the cool down period from CPU under load to idle was remarkable.
Her are the temperatures;

(CPU / system in C)

Prior to modification....
Idle 41 / 44
Under burn-in load 58 / 52
Idle after load 49 / 51

After modification...
Idle 39 / 40
Under burn-in load 56 / 47
Idle after load 45 / 47

Here are some pictures

From the intake side.

The ducting by it self
