Front USB doesn't work
« on: 03-April-04, 18:43:19 »

Hi

The Antec sonata Mid-tower is fitted with 2 Front USB

I've plugged tower wire to the Mobo (yellow Jusb2).  But it's not working

Rear USB seems to run correctly. there are no errors under peripherals manager and all drivers/bios are up-to-date.

what's next ?

Thanks for your help

My sonata case had the front usb wires each with individual connectors.  Looking into the case the color order should be red-white-green-black (left to right) and each cable should have its own row . ("Don't cross the streams !")

Also make sure in the device manager make sure you have 4 USB devices (and the USB 2.0 device?)  all active with no problems.

there is no individual connectors for front USB, it's 1 built-in connector at the end of the wire.
3 internals wires :
front audio : not connected
front firewire : not connected
front USB : connected on the yellow connector

in the device manager :
there are 4 USB Host universal controllers and 1 USB2 universal controller

but when i plug my Sony USB Key, in the front nothing append, but at the rear it works

Three wires doesn't sound  right.   What are the markings on the connector and cable ?

I have two white sheathed cables each with 4 wires.    The ends are marked +5V, -D, +D, Ground (One cable is marked USB, the other is not  :undecided:)

Not trying to be wise, but any chance there's still cables stuffed up in the gap between the back of the harddrive cage and  the side of the case that doesnt come off ?
