CHIP FIRM AMD confirmed to the INQUIRER this afternoon that it started shipping 90 nano versions of some of its chips on Wednesday of this week.

The parts concerned are the Athlon 64 3000+, 3200+ and 3500+, but others will follow quite soon.

Cooler chips possibly, and this means more overclocking potential . :like::biggthumbsup:

My new 90um 3500+ is gonna be way faster, cheaper, and a mega babe-magnet :rolleyes_anim:, compared to all those old-fashioned, coal-powered, bigger die 3500+'s. ;-))

And talking about an engineering sample of this smaller die, from 2 months ago...

... managed to overclock it to 2500 MHz+ on an Nforce 3 250 board with increasing voltage and FSB to 230MHz and all worked fine and no hell broke loose.
