« on: 12-September-05, 19:59:13 »

 :confused2: Help,
My Toshiba DVD-ROM / CD-R COMBO internal drive will not burn CDs. I have disabled the WIN XP service IMAPI CD-Burning servicem, but still it will not burn CDs. It used to work OK.

 Its a  SD-R5112 model.

  • Did you disable the simulation before writing?

Does your writer show up as an available writing device?
If not update your software from nero.com

If you are using a non administrator account you need to grant it writing permissions using Nero burn rights (downloaded here)

Thanks for your help Assaf. How do I disable the simulation before writing, as you suggest ? The Drive looks to be OK from an operating system point of view.

  • Apperantly there is no simulation option in the express version.

When you go to burn, after you add the files and move to the next step is your burner available ?

It shows two devices in the drop down box, neither of which will burn a CD :

    Image Recorder (CD-R/RW)
    E: TOSHIBA DVD ROM SD-R5112 (CD-R/RW)
