« on: 18-October-05, 14:40:33 »

Help me,

i have read all the stickies and try evrything, but didn't work. This mobo using xp2200 and 256MB ram.already test display card, ram with others pc and it works.

from stickies, 8 beep mean display memory read/write test failure. Is there any chance that mobo can be safe or repair. How?

thanks in advance

  • Do you know if the video card 1) is in completely, and 2) works at all. What is the graphics card?

  • can you list the specs of this system, as you have done in your sig, as it appears to be different to the one listed in your sig?

try some different memory. if you have two sticks, try one at a time

    thanks for the reply.

graphic card and ram works fine when i test it with other MOBO. Graphic card is Geforce4 MX440 (AGP8X )with 64MB and ram is NCP 256MB PC2100.

I already try change graphic card with PCI graphic crad and also AGP card, even try to use Kingston memory, all fail.. still got 8 beeps.

does it means that mobo alreay died?

    sorry..

this is the spec that i can remember.

    - KT4AV mobo
    - Athlon XP2200
    - NCP 256 pc2100
    - AVF PSU 450W (voltage rail can't remember.. so sorry)
    - Display : Geforce 4 mx440 (64Mb 8x)
    - Seagate HD (80G)
    - Liteon Combo

if u think that PSU is the problem, i don't think so, since already try with my enlight 350W (v rail can be read inmy sig).. nothing seems to work :undecided:

hope its can help ypu guys to give me an idea how to revive it.

    thanks iin advance.
