AMD BETA BIOS Update
« on: 21-August-19, 10:23:35 »

BIOS update is not recommended unless your system is NOT working properly.
Ref: https://bbs.nga.cn/read.php?tid=18512047&_fp=2&rand=864

X570 BIOS AGESA 1.0.0.3ABBA
Caution!!
1. Better download the latest AMD tool (Ryzen Master) from AMD website for verification
2. This BIOS does not affect DRAM overclocking much but memory may become a little bit more unstable above 4600Mhz (MICRON)
3. You may try disabling GearDownMode to have better performance if using HYNIX single side die
4. Might not observe significant change if CPU cooler is not powerful enough (Stock Cooler)

Note.
CPPC (Collaborative Power And Performance Control) - Work with Ryzen 3000 + X570 only!!
Auto/Enable -> System would have better performance but CPU frequency will not drop during idle (use windows 10 with update after MAY + Cinebench R15)
Disable -> CPU frequency will drop to save energy during idle
Location in BIOS

Auto/Enable - 2176cb

Disable (drop to 2.2G) - 2163cb

CPU frequency optimization
3800X - 4550Mhz

3900X - 4625MHz

Giving it a test now for X570-A Pro. Whenever I turn on the OC Genie, it fails to POST. I have a new Ryzen 3600.

Edit: POSTed fine and I'm in windows with my 600mhz overclock. Nice. Hope it's rock solid. Using an AIO water cooler.

The file in the link for the X570 Gaming Plus is wrong. It says A37, but inside the zip you just find A36, like the same from the ftp server as a beta. Could you reupload it please? Thank you!

Why have these been posted here on forums instead on download pages for all the corresponding motherboards?
And I hope AGESA 1.0.0.3ABB is coming for B450 boards, is it? Any more changelogs about those? CPU LED issues fixed?

Well this is nice, would be nice if the X470 and B450 owners would get the 1.0.0.3abb based bios too. Ton of people having all kinds of issues. There seems to be a general compatibility issue with the 400 series chipset and Zen2 based CPUs, then even configurations that ran perfectly fine for weeks or months, all of a sudden start getting issues without changing anything on the system.

Is it safe to use this bios on the x570-a pro? HWINFO64, CPU-Z and MSI Afterburner report locked frequency and voltage. Ryzen master does not.
https://i.imgur.com/OAa8jQq.png
Edit: Yeah I think this BIOS is garbo. I can't see boosts past 4275mhz on my 3600X. Reverting back to 7C37vH10..

Glad that MSI are still posting updates. I was following the MSI_GAMING reddit closely and haven't heard anything for over a month now. Is there any approximate time that the 400 series boards will start getting ABB?

With my Tomahawk B450 and 3700X I flashed the V19 BIOS however I had booting issues. Had to press the power button, wait for several seconds until the hardware turned on (but didn't post) and then hit the reset button. It was quite weird but worked.

V1A is installed at the moment which made the booting issue go away, however I got a BSOD during the first boot. And then another several days later, and another again. Haven't had an issue since, and hoping it stays that way.

i updated my bios to .137 as i have the MSI X570 Gaming Edge Wifi MB........but it does not goes above 4275MHz boost.
The previous beta bios 136 gave me ~4500MHz, so I'm a bit disappointed by this beta version 137......
And when i now go back from 137 to 136 I can also not replicate my previous speeds
No OC , only setting I changed was turning XMP on and changing boot to UEFI (so no CSM).

Any Word on B450 Carbon? Im still on V17, everything works quite good, but those low usage clocks and voltages. I can solve it by choosing power saver plan, but it gimps my whole perf like 30%.

MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi.
Enabling XMP causes system to freeze during boot using 2 x Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2D3600C18. This didn't happen with latest 1.36 selecting the right profile so flashed back.

MEG X570 ACE with 7C35v144 (AGESA 1.0.0.3abb)
 * No more bug with stuck on POST after MCLCK+FCLCK raising up to 3600(1800)
 * Significantly reduced perfomance (max XFR clocks on 3900X - 4414MHz)

Seems no more changes there. Will check later.

Guys I have the MPG X570 Gaming Plus MB with Ryzen 3700X. After updating my BIOS to this beta version, I noticed immediately a much more aggressive fan curve resulting in a much louder stock cooler even when idle. I forgot how the previous BIOS default fan curve was set-up, but once I switched back to the latest stable, I noticed default stable has 100% fan rpm at 85C and beta has it set at 70C or 75C (can't remember which one). I definitely prefer the current stable default fan curve. Why was it changed? It's way too aggressive on the latest beta! Please fix this. Anyone else care to check to see what the default beta BIOS fan curve looks like?

Which is why we're reporting issues, so they can get fixed.
On the B450 TOMAHAWK BIOS the sleep/suspend function no longer works properly, instead of properly waking up the PC stays on black screen for a while and proceeds to reboot.

I read over the forum the OP linked using google translator and it looks like people are having memory stability issues with the beta bios.

I updated to the beta bios on my  x570 gaming pro carbon w/ 3800x.  3800mhz ram 1900mhz IF is no longer stable.  Cinebench R20 score dropped and had black screen reboot while stress testing.  Lowered to 3733mhz 1867mhz IF and Cinebench R20 score went up 200 points and memtest86 overnight reported no errors.

Confirm, my CPU fan behaves like crazy on small peaks and even when idle. Revered BIOS to stable version.
I am using Hydro Series™ H60 and my temps varies between 35+ (idle) and 65+ (games)

Devs, please fix the fan curve! Thanks!

Yes, it’s stable, in stock.
But when I try OC RAM, it can’t POST and boot.
Have to reset CMOS to default.
Hope A37 will be fixed and I will try OC again.

Can confirm.  I tried the latest beta for Meg x570 Ace using Ryzen 7 3700x and was no longer able to even hit 1800mhz IF when previous .130 build ran it with tightened RAM timings with ease.  I immediately went back to .130.

I have purchased the B450M Mortar motherboard. I can not change ANY bios options! The system will not POST as far as I can tell. I am not getting any signal on my HDMI ports, both on my videocard and the mainboard HDMI Port fail to give a signal. I have to clear CMOS and boot a couple times before it shows the POST screen agaiin. I also had this problem with my previous GFX card, so it's definitely a motherboard issue!

I have created a support ticket already but MSI is not replying. Does anyone have similar expierence and possibly a solution?.

Some seems to have been pulled off. There's likely a reason for that.
I think we'll find out tomorrow.

I hope the get this sorted out before the release of the 3950x.

I need the rdrand bug fixed.

Other motherboard manufacturers have stable bios updates out with this patched already, what is the issue with MSI?

Also have seen that all of the mobo makers Asus, Gigabyte and even Asrock added stable ABB bios for users 2 weeks ago. Dont understand whats going on with MSI.

Some people are always going to have issues, so forum post aren't the most reliable way of determining an issue.

I'm sure we've all seen someone having issues with the same hardware we use without any issues.

But the simple fact is that other manufacturers have posted bios updates which are labelled stable (not beta) and remain available for download and those updates do indeed resolve the rdrand bug.

Whereas MSI had a beta bios which lasted a day before needing to be pulled.

That does not inspire confidence!

I would like to add that there are benchmarks showing some high end MSI x570 boards not reaching the same boost clock as some of their rivals.

I must admit I don't know if this is a simple bios issue as well or poor motherboard design.

The topic in AMD community confirms MSI mobos only problem with Matisse. -> https://community.amd.com/thread/241414

Today I conducted an experiment. I put my 3900X in my wife’s computer (GB X570 Auros Elite 1.0.0.3abb). The result was not surprising, 3900X on GB motherboard behaves in a completely different way. The boost frequency was 4.635GHz with 1.49v. Temperature changes are smooth and fully consistent with data from Ryzen Master.

Very interesting indeed.....i'm a bit frustrated reading your findings, i always have Gigabyte boards (AMD and Intel) and for the first time decided to switch to MSI, but seeing the pull back of the beta bios and reading all these story's around i got the feeling i made a big mistake and probably will switch to another brand and do not buy MSI anymore.....

I have the same regrets when i read this. This is my first MSI mobo after longs years buying Asus. My motherboard, an MEG X570 Ace was unable to reach max boost on 1 core. My 3900X is unable to pass more than 4550mhz. I've tried many bios settings, nothing work. And when i run OCCT, my processor go from 35° to 85° in less than 2 seconds, lol.
With a D15 or kraken X72, it's the same story.
Please MSI, fix boost and reading temperature !

In regards to boost:
I have been following couple of forums, some retailers, some other vendors
And it seems that it's AMD's AGESA not doing it the way they advertised CPU clocks as.
